Commitment

Here is the third of the 3Cs of Effective Learning – Commitment.

Whether for personal or professional reasons, being proficient in the English language nowadays is no longer an option but a necessity. Making it a priority is essential but it doesn’t necessarily mean we have to dedicate a lot of time to it. Remember, it’s not the amount of time but the quality of time that we dedicate to something that makes the difference. We must be commited.

Define short and long term goals and commit yourself to achieving them. Make sure they are realistic. For example, if you are a beginner, you will certainly not become advanced in 6 months!

Break your goals down into small managable pieces and commit to achieving one of them at a time.

Be curious; find out what interests you and motivates you enough to dedicate regular time to your goal. Doing a little but continuously – step by step – will get you where you want to go.

Put in a dedicated long term effort to learning the language and you’ll see the progress – guaranteed!
